Category: Let's talk
Hi,
I've already gotten a few notes from people, but if anyone else would like to fill me in on this center for the blind that'd be great!
I'm considering going & have already read all through the website, but I can't talk to the director until they get back from convention.
Thanks,
Michelle
Hey, I've never been there, but I heard lots of good things about their program. In the convention, they offered an open house for the Louisiana Center and answered questions from everyone. They got a variety of programs depending on what you need. From what I've heard, they have an evaluation week the first week you go there and then from that evaluation, they will give you an individualized training. I think they also help you find a job related to your career goals or if you want to go to school, they help you with technology training and college preparatory classes.
They should be bakc by now since convention ended last week. Try contacting them soon?
they're usually off the week after convention, but best of luck to you. let me know if I can be of any more help.
Yes, the center is top notch, and provides a type of training that is not provided elsewhere, except for the other two nfb centers. It'll both bring out the worst/best in you. *smile*
